About Active tag

When building a small-scale monitoring system with a small number of I/O points, you may want to access the PLC simply by specifying the device address on the PLC side, without registering tags in advance.

 

Such needs can be easily met by using "Active tag". Active tag is a function that allows you to dynamically generate tags by directly specifying the device address on the PLC side from the application that uses the tags. When using Active tag, units and folders are registered in Panel Server as usual. Then, when specifying the tag path from the application, add a "#" (half-width sharp) character to the beginning of the format that represents the address.
 

 

As shown above, by specifying a device address followed by "#", you can connect to and communicate with the specified PLC device even if the tag has not been registered in Panel Server beforehand.
