Surveillance system construction guide

overview

This chapter is a guide to building a monitoring system using FA-Panel.

Content is available to suit your needs, from how to create projects and graphic screens to how to configure individual functions such as alarms and logging, system duplication, and runtime operation settings.

overview

Creating a project

In addition to explaining how to create a standard project using the standard framework, we will also explain how to create your own project without using the standard framework.

Communication settings with PLC and tag registration

This section explains how to register a unit to communicate with PLC and how to register tags to the registered unit.

Creating a graphic screen

This explains how to create graphic screens. In addition to using a parts library to create a screen, we will also introduce how to create your own display without using a parts library.

Building the main features

This article explains how to build the main individual functions required for a monitoring system, such as alarms, logging, trend graphs, daily reports, demand monitoring, and energy management, as well as providing an overview of the configuration using Panel Server as a communications server.

Collaboration between functions (use of related information)

This article explains how to link functions using the related information function of FA-Panel. Defining related information enables information linkage across functions. For example, based on the occurrence date and time of a record selected from the alarm history list, you can instantly play back the recorded data for that date and time on the camera monitor (split display) or call up a history trend graph for that date and time.

Security

This section explains the security of FA-Panel. It explains user management (login function) using login users and groups, and simple protection using a password dialog.

Building server logic

In addition to the main functions listed above, you can also build various server functions. Here, we will introduce how to build various server logic using the functions of Panel Server on a case-by-case basis.

System implementation and operation

This article explains the preparations required before installing the system, as well as the system operation configurations such as a single server or a server duplex configuration. It also introduces how to run Panel Server and Panel Browser at runtime, and explains the setup tasks required for each purpose and the various settings required for continuous operation.
