Connecting the license key (USB key)
To use FA-Engine, you need a FA-Server (or FA-Engine) license. When you purchase the product, you will be provided with one license key (USB key). Please use FA-Engine with the USB license key connected to your computer.

If a user application is run without a license key connected, FA-Engine operates in virtual communication mode, in which it does not actually communicate with PLC, but acts as if it is communicating virtually.
For example, with a normal PLC driver, the initial value is FALSE for Boolean tags, 0 for numeric tags, and an empty string for string tags, allowing any value to be written. Please note that tag settings (filter, data type, etc.) are ignored, so it is possible to write values outside the range, write decimal values to tags that do not have a decimal point setting, and write values that would be impossible when actually communicating with PLC. Also, be aware that tag filters set for each tag will no longer be used.

If you want to perform some processing when the license cannot be recognized (such as displaying a message in the user application), use the ErrorOccured event. |
