Connection example [Q6TEL A mode]

This is an example of connection settings in A mode with Q6TEL.

Compatible models

You can connect to the PLC CPU using a telephone line. In this case, use a modem interface unit (A6TEL or Q6TEL). When connecting to an A series CPU with a Q6TEL, you must set the dip switch to A mode.

Modem initialization command

Since there are no standard specifications for modem initialization commands, the appropriate initialization commands differ for each manufacturer and modem. The pre-set initialization commands are valid for many modems, but some modems cannot initialize properly.

If you click [Run Test] in the "Connection Test" dialog box and the modem does not appear to make a call and "Connection NG" is immediately displayed, it is possible that the initialization command was not received correctly.

In this case, first try deleting all the characters entered in [Modem Initialization Command] (depending on the modem model, you may be able to connect without any problems without initializing it).

If you still cannot connect, you will need to find the appropriate modem initialization commands yourself.

As mentioned above, modem initialization commands differ depending on the manufacturer and modem, so we cannot provide support.

Look up the initialization command in your modem manual that satisfies the following conditions, and set it in [Modem Initialization Command].

Returns a result code (response code) for the initialization command.

The result code is returned as a string.

The CD signal turns ON when the other party's carrier is received.

When the ER signal changes from ON to OFF, the line is disconnected.

Performs RTS/CTS flow control (RS/CS flow control).

Set the mode to use MNP. Set the type of MNP to be automatically selected.

If your modem does not support MNP, switch to direct mode.

We recommend that you use the same model and manufacturer for the modems connected to the PC and PLC. If the modems are from different manufacturers or models, compatibility issues may occur and the connection may not be possible.
