Connection example [Q6TEL A mode]

This is an example of a connection in A mode for Q6TEL. If you use A6TEL, the contents are the same, so please read "Q6TEL" as "A6TEL".

Unit side settings

You need to configure the communication unit "Q6TEL". The configuration is done using GPPW etc.

 

1.Turn on only DIP switch 1 of the Q6TEL (all other switches are OFF), and connect the Q6TEL to the PLC. Also, connect the PC and the Q6TEL with an RS-232C cable.

 

2.Start GPPW etc. and create a new project

 

3.From the "Tools" menu, select "TEL Function Settings/Connection via Modem" - "TEL Data Registration" and perform the following settings.

4.Click "Write to A6TEL" to write the settings to Q6TEL.

 

5.Turn on the modem, remove the RS-232C that connects the PC and the Q6TEL, and connect the Q6TEL to the modem.
Q6To connect the TEL to the modem, use the cable that came with the modem.

 

6.Turn off DIP switch 1 on the Q6TEL to reset the Q6TEL.

 

7.Connect the computer to a modem (a different modem from the one in step 5) using the cable that came with the modem.
 

8.Set the "Line type," "Telephone number," and "Password" in the "TEL Unit Settings" of the "Connection" dialog, and then perform a connection test.

Modem Initialization Command

Specifies the command to initialize the modem.

Line Type

Specify the type of telephone line to be used

"Other" includes ISDN lines, etc.

telephone number

Specify the phone number of the person you want to access

password

TELSpecify the password set for the unit

Line connection waiting time

Specify the waiting time until the call is connected after starting dialing

If the line is not connected within the time specified here, a "timeout error" will occur.
