Connecting the License Key
There are two types of licenses: standard license (USB license) and online license. When you purchase a standard license version of FA-Server, you will be provided with one license key (USB key). The license key must be connected to the PC when using the application.

On the other hand, online licenses are subscription-based licenses that are authenticated via the Internet. They can also be used in cloud environments where USB type license keys cannot be used. From version 6 onwards, FA-Engine has been integrated into the FA-Server package. When running a user application developed using FA-Engine, a FA-Server license is required on the PC in the execution environment. If a user application is run without a license key connected, FA-Engine will operate in virtual communication mode. In virtual communication mode, it does not actually communicate with PLC, but behaves as if it is communicating virtually. For matters concerning FA-Engine, please refer to the FA-Engine manual. |

About Restricted Mode
FA-Server consists of two applications: FA-Server / FA-Client. A license key (USB key) is required to operate FA-Server. If the license key is not connected, FA-Server will start in restricted mode. Restrictions of restricted mode include a limit of two hours of continuous operation in online mode. If the time limit is exceeded, the system will automatically switch to offline mode, but you can manually switch back to online mode. All other functions can be used in exactly the same way as in normal mode.

Development work can be done in limited mode, which means that even if you have only one license key, multiple engineers can work on multiple PCs in parallel. |
