Demand-linked control processing example

Below are some examples of processing methods for establishing linked control using the occurrence of an alarm generated by demand monitoring as a trigger.

Please use this as a reference when actually building interlocking control.

Processing method

Processing example

Example 1

Linked control is performed by downstream control devices such as PLCs.

•Specify the PLC device tag for the demand alarm tag in the demand settings, and write the demand alarm detection status to the PLC.

•Control logic is constructed on PLC using ladder logic or other methods, and control processing is executed using the tag writing of the above alarm as a trigger.

Example 2

The linkage control is performed using the "Script Ver2" action of Panel Server.

•Create a unique setting screen for demand-linked control in Panel Editor, and set parameters for control (control groups, start/stop tags for devices to be started/stopped in conjunction, etc.) from the Panel Browser screen. Make it possible to save the parameters set from the screen to a CSV file or disk tag (*1).

•Specify a memory device tag in Panel Server as the demand alarm tag in the demand settings, and write the demand alarm detection status as a tag in memory.

•Implement the interlocking control processing logic in a script using the Panel Server script Ver2 action. The script reads the above configuration file (CSV), receives the demand alarm tag status via TagValueChanged events, etc., and performs control processing after the event occurs (such as writing to the device start/stop tag).

(*1) If you do not want to create a settings screen, you can manually edit the control parameters using Notepad or other tools, or you can implement the script logic to statically write the on/off tag information of the controlled device.

Example 3

Implement interlocking control using an external application.

•A memory device tag is specified as the demand alarm tag in the demand setting, and the detection status of the demand alarm is written to the tag.

•The processing logic for the interlocking control is built as an external application using a development language such as VisualStudio.NET. The external application uses the IPLink client library (ActiveX) to access the tag, obtain the demand alarm status, and executes the control logic on the external application side (*2).

(*2) By using IPLink, you can read and write tags from external applications. Device start/stop output from the control logic can also be done via the Panel Server tag.

hint

Details on connecting to a server using IPLink are described in "IPLink Client Library".

hint

It is possible to implement control logic as a Panel Browser client application, but this is not recommended due to considerations when multiple clients are operated (it is necessary to take measures to prevent the same logic from being executed on multiple clients at the same time) and the risk of Panel Browser being terminated unintentionally. To implement logic that runs in a resident state on the system, please use the "Script Ver2" action. This action is a function that allows you to run scripted logic on Panel Server.
