Client Configuration Guide

overview

This chapter explains how to set up the FA-Server client application, “FA-Client”.

In order to connect to FA-Client from FA-Server and use the report and trend graph screens, some configuration steps are required.

For information on how to set up, please refer to "Server Settings" and "Client Settings".

attention

A new "login function" has been added in Rev13 and later of FA-Server6. When applying a patch for Rev13 or later to a system that is being operated with an old server setting prior to Rev12, there are important precautions to take with this upgrade. For details on this matter, please refer to the description in "Important) Precautions when applying patches to old systems prior to Rev12".

Download the sample

A "Client Connection Sample" is provided as an example of connection settings from FA-Client to FA-Server.

The sample can be downloaded from below.

"\\sample01\server\server.txt" included in the folder where you unzipped the sample is the server settings file for FA-Server. You can open this file in FA-Server and check the settings, which can serve as a reference for the connection settings explained in this guide. You can also use this sample as a template for your own development.

hint

FA-Client has the following limitations:

I can't customize the screen.

Only two clients can connect to FA-Server at the same time.

If you need to customize your screen or if you need an insufficient number of client connections, please consider our sister product package, "FA-Panel".
