Steps for embedding in a VB application

Download the sample

The creation examples shown on this page are provided with samples.

The sample can be downloaded from below.

The above is a sample for VB2010. The "sample01.xml" included in the sample is the client setting file called from VB.

When running this sample, please make sure Panel Server is online.

Steps for embedding in a VB application

To incorporate Panel Browser into VB, you must enable the FA-Panel component in the VB component settings. By checking "Roboticsware FA-Panel Ver6" from VB's "Toolbox", "Choose Items", and "COM Components", you will be able to use the Panel Browser ActiveX interface from VB.

Summary of development steps

The development steps combining Panel Editor and VB are as follows.

1.Create a screen using Panel Editor and save it in the client configuration file (xml).

2.Use the setup function to output a set of client configuration files (in this case, follow the setup procedure in "Setup for execution in file distribution format").

3.Paste Panel Browser ActiveX into the VB screen.

4.The OpenFile method of ActiveX is used to implement the process of calling the client configuration file output by the setup function.

5.Build and run the application (exe) in VB.

Follow the steps above to build the application (exe), place it on the actual PC, and run it. When doing so, for resource files such as configuration files and images, place the set of distribution files output to the specified folder by the setup function on the actual PC.

The following is an example of VB program code for opening a client configuration file from Panel Browser ActiveX.

●VB.NET2010

Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load

  AxFAPanelBrowser1.OpenFile("sample.xml")

End Sub

Please note that the path to the configuration file specified above must match the path that is actually placed on the actual PC.

attention

Due to license authentication, the ActiveX interface is designed to function only when connected to Panel Server.
