Editing an alarm master for event monitoring

About the alarm master for Alarm server "Event"

In the standard framework server settings, an action named "Event" is registered as Alarm server (CSV) for event monitoring.

The alarm master for the "Event" action is stored below.

(Project folder) \server\event\master.csv

The alarm master is a text file in CSV format and can be freely edited using a text editor such as Notepad or Excel.

Editing an Alarm Master

The procedure for editing an alarm master is explained below.

■ Prerequisites

In the configuration example introduced here, the following tags are assumed to be registered in Panel Server instead of the actual tags that communicate with PLC. When actually building a monitoring system, please read these tags as tags that communicate with PLC.

Units used:

Virtual Device (U01)

tag:

Numeric tags from U01.F01.D0000 to D0099 (100 points)

Bit tags from U01.F01.M0000 to M0099 (100 points)

■Work Instructions

Open the alarm master file for event monitoring, "master.csv", in a text editor such as Notepad.

Then, the following is written:

p_alarm_0040

The above is sample data. For actual operation, you need to delete unnecessary lines and define the event conditions according to the rules of the alarm master format.

This format is the same as the alarm master for alarm monitoring, with the first line being the title, the second line being the field definition, and the third and subsequent lines being the event definition.

The standard event function has the following default field definitions:

field

Contents

[ALARMID]

This is the alarm ID. You can define any string. Please assign a unique ID to identify the alarm.

[RECOVER]

Whether or not an event occurs or returns. For events, specify "n".

[ACK]

Whether to confirm or not. For events, specify "n".

[ONCONDITION]

Define the conditions under which an event occurs. For example, if you define a tag called "U01.F01.M0000" as a tag that indicates the start of equipment operation, an event will be considered to have occurred (equipment operation starting) when that tag changes from False to True. Also, if you define it as "!U01.F01.M0000" or "U01.F01.M0000==FALSE", an event will be detected when the tag changes from True to False (equipment operation stops).

[CM0]

In comment 0, write the event message.

[CM1]

Comment 1 defines the label string for the alarm level. In this example, set it to "Event".

[CM2]

Comment 2 defines the alarm level value. In this case, it should be fixed to "0".

If you do not need to change the event monitoring items or the information to be saved, leave the first and second lines unchanged and edit only the third and subsequent lines.

•Leave the first and second lines as they are.

•Delete the third and subsequent lines as they are sample data.

•The actual event definition is written from the third line onwards.

The following is an example.

Alarm ID, occurrence and recovery, confirmation, occurrence condition, comment 0, comment 1, alarm level

[ALARMID],[RECOVER],[ACK],[ONCONDITION],[CM0],[CM1],[CM2]

EVENT-001,n,n,U01.F01.M0010,M0010 has turned ON,Event,0

EVENT-002,n,n,!U01.F01.M0010,M0010 has turned OFF,Event,0

EVENT-003,n,n,U01.F01.M0011,M0011 has turned ON,Event,0

EVENT-004,n,n,!U01.F01.M0011,M0011 has turned OFF,Event,0

EVENT-005,n,n,U01.F01.M0012,M0012 has turned ON,Event,0

EVENT-006,n,n,!U01.F01.M0012,M0012 has turned OFF,Event,0

In the above example, tags U01.F01.M0010 to M0012 of the virtual device registered earlier will be used as events.

Once you have finished editing, save the alarm master.

hint

For details about the alarm master format and fields, see "Alarm Master Format".

hint

Among the conditions, the half-width "!" at the beginning of "!U01.F01.M0010" etc. corresponds to the logical operator "Not."

Operation check

After configuring the alarm master for event monitoring, check the event operation.

1.Bring your application online

Run Panel Server online.

p_alarm_0041

Click the browser run icon (green arrow) at the top of the Panel Editor screen to call up Panel Browser.

p_alarm_0042

2.Displaying the Event Real-time Screen

Once Panel Browser is launched, click "Events Real Time" from the menu.

p_alarm_0053

The real-time event screen list displays the events that are detected and have an OFF signal among the registered events.

p_alarm_0054

3.Raise an event

From Panel Server, select the F01 folder of the U01 unit and make sure that tags M0010 to M0012 are displayed in the multiview.

p_alarm_0055

Select M0010 from the multiview, press the "F5" key to display the write dialog, and set the value to "TRUE".

Then, a new event will be displayed at the top of the real-time event screen, as shown below. As you can see, the real-time event screen dynamically updates the display when an event occurs, and the new event will be displayed at the top.

p_alarm_0056

Next, set M0010 to FALSE using the same procedure as above.

Then, the OFF events were displayed in the top row of the list, as shown below.

p_alarm_0057

4.Check the event history

Click "Event History" from the menu on the left side of the screen to display the Event History screen.

Please make sure that the event history for the series of operations above is recorded correctly.
