Equipment requirements for this example
In this configuration example, we assume that there is monitored equipment with the following requirements:
•In a factory for producing certain parts, five pieces of machinery and equipment are installed for production.
•Each of the five pieces of mechanical equipment is equipped with a contact point for outputting a signal indicating "operating," "stopped," or "fault" to the outside.
•Each of the five pieces of machinery will be equipped with a "call" or "treatment in progress" push button, and contact signals indicating the call status or treatment in progress status will be input from each button.
•A pulse signal that triggers production will be prepared for each of the five pieces of machinery, and production results will be recorded via a contact signal that is turned ON for approximately three seconds each time a part is produced.
We will collect signals from the above machinery and equipment indicating "operating," "stopped," "fault," "call," and "treatment in progress" to monitor operation in detail.
Furthermore, the production results are input in a pulse and the production target, results and progress rate are also displayed on the screen.
•Each equipment status is represented by a change in the indicator light on the left and the background color of the display frame.
•Messages such as "malfunction," "call," and "treatment in progress" are also displayed (on the entire screen).
•Displays data on "production target," "production results," "progress rate," "operating time," "downtime," and "abnormal time."
■ Signals to be captured (examples)
The following contact signals will be received via downstream control devices such as PLC.
In this example, all contact signals are taken in through a single control device, "PLC01."

"Tag registration for collecting operation status" provides some concrete examples of how to capture signals. Please use them as a reference when building an actual system. |
Unit/tag design
Based on the above equipment requirements, a list of signals that the system needs to capture is designed as a "tag list."
■ Tag list (example)
In this example, the unit name for connecting to the control device "PLC01" is defined as "U01", and a tag for importing contact signals is defined under U01.
