Operating environment

FA-Server operates in the following environment.

Supported OS

Japanese OS and English OS for 32-bit/64-bit versions of Windows 11 (including IoT Enterprise) / Windows 10 (including IoT Enterprise) / 8 (including 8.1) / 7 / Server 2022 (including IoT) / Server 2019 (including IoT) / Server 2016 / Server 2012 (including R2) / Server 2008 (including R2).

*For information on the range of English display for English OS, please refer to the tips below.

Hardware

A PC running a compatible OS. At least 2GB of free memory. At least 10GB of free storage.

attention

Please install the software with administrator privileges. When you run our application, you need to determine whether you should run the application with administrator privileges. For details, see "Installation" - "Running with administrator privileges".

attention

Embedded OS (Windows10 IoT Mobile Enterprise / Windows10 IoT Core (Pro) / Windows Embedded 8 / Windows Embedded 7, etc.) are not supported. If you plan to use it with an embedded OS, you are responsible for verifying and validating its operation.

attention

In versions/editions of Windows that have a "lockdown function," our applications will not run properly if the function is enabled. Please disable the Windows lockdown function. For more information about the lockdown function, please refer to the Windows manual.

hint

The executable files (installed files) of our applications are the same for both Japanese and English versions, and the display language automatically changes depending on the OS type. The menus and dialogues of our applications are displayed in Japanese on a Japanese OS, and in English on other OS.

However, the following is only available in Japanese.

Communication interface version constraints

Please note the following restrictions:

IPLink-Interface

When connecting to FA-Server via IPLink, the version of the IPLink client library used for the connection must be the same version as FA-Server. Communication between different versions of IPLink-Interface is not supported (communication between different revisions is possible. However, if you use Rev4 or later, all communicating versions must be Rev4 or later.).

Restrictions

Some features have restrictions when you use them. Please be aware of the following:

■Communication driver

Mitsubishi Private Protocol

Communication driver using

Mitsubishi's private protocol communication drivers (CPU Direct, MELSECNET/H board, CC-Link board, etc.) communicate using Mitsubishi libraries.

Currently supported operating systems are Windows 10 / 8 (including 8.1) / 7 (including 64-bit OS).

However, the compatible FA-Server is limited to the 32-bit version (if you run the 32-bit version of FA-Server on a 64-bit OS, it will run on WOW64).

FL-net

The FL-net connection uses the Century Systems FL-PCI board for communication. Supported OS varies depending on the type of board.

FL-PCI/V2: Not supported

FL-PCI/V2-100: Windows7 32bit

FL-PCI/V2-100L: Windows 10/Windows 8 (including 8.1)/Windows 7 32/64bit

*Please make sure that firmware compatible with each OS is installed on the board.

■Action Restrictions

File serverAction

This action is used only to transfer setting files when connecting to FA-Client (trend pen setting files, etc.). Other functions of this action cannot be used.

■If you use a function that uses Microsoft or Excel, the following versions are supported.

Summary Actions

Excel 2002 to 2024

If you only want to print, you do not need to install Excel.

For details, please refer to "Report Function" in Summary Action.

Excel Driver

Excel 2016 to 2024

■When using IPLink, the supported development environments are as follows.

VisualBasic .NET

VisualStudio 2010~2022

*The only framework that can be used is ".Net Framework". ".Net6" and others cannot be used.
