Object Name
You can give an object a name. The name of an object is set with the Name property. The name is set in Panel Editor at development time. The name of an object cannot be changed at runtime.
Although forms must be named, control objects do not necessarily have to be named (the Name property is blank by default). For example, you may need to name objects if you want to use absolute path references in scripts.
|
For information on naming objects, see "Naming Rules". |
|
Object names can be duplicated, but as a general rule, avoid duplicate object names within the same hierarchy (even if duplicate object names exist, no errors will be displayed). If an absolute path reference is made when multiple objects have duplicate names, there is no guarantee which control will be referenced among multiple controls with duplicate names. |
|
The root object is named "root". In addition to the "::" we have explained so far, you can also specify the following as an absolute path.
root.Form01.FillColor // Same as ::Form01.FillColor
Note that "::" is an abbreviation for "root.". |
