Slider 3

parts_slider3_001

Slider 3 is a component used to write the number entered on the screen to the tag.

By operating the slider with the mouse, data is written to the input/output tag, and the current value is displayed in real time on the attached bar meter.

Editing is also possible using the edit box.

Specify the tag for which the current value is to be input in the input tag (_TagIn) property. This tag value will be used for real-time display of the bar meter.

Specify the tag to be used for input and output of tag editing in the input/output tag (_TagInOut) property. The initial values of the slider and edit box are only the initial display, and the display is not updated dynamically even if the tag value changes.

When editing a value, only values within the range specified by the minimum and maximum values will be accepted. The initial display value will be the tag's numeric value regardless of the minimum and maximum value settings, and any numeric format can be specified, including the number of decimal places and whether or not to display delimiters.

In addition, by specifying a tag for fault identification in the fault identification tag (_TagFault) separate from the input tag, a fault can be displayed based on signals such as equipment abnormalities received from downstream.

Usage Example

1) Input/output tag specified/no fault identification tag

parts_slider3_001

The value of the input/output tag is displayed according to the number format and decimal point position defined in the custom properties.

The edit box and slider components will not automatically update their display even if the values of the input/output tags change.

Additionally, the current value of the input tag is displayed on a bar meter, which is automatically updated whenever the value changes.

parts_slider3_002

When you edit the slider using the mouse, the edited results are written to the input/output tag.

parts_slider3_003

The edits made using the slider were written to the input/output tag.

The edit box will automatically reflect the edited results.

When the quality flag of the input/output tag is BAD, a fault is displayed.

parts_slider3_004

The part will be framed in yellow and will flash.

When a fault is displayed, both the slider and edit box are disabled and cannot be edited.

The method of editing values using the edit box is the same as Numeric Input 1.

hint

If the same tag is used for both input and output, specify the same tag path for the input tag and the input/output tag.

hint

Various number formats are available (e.g. "@de" for Germany, "@ja" for Japan, etc.). You can also customize the number format to freely change the string displayed in a fault state (e.g. ***). For an overview of number formats, see Number Formats.

If you want to change the string displayed when the quality flag is BAD (QualityBad) as shown below, please refer to Number format (user format).

Example: If you want to display a different string when the quality flag is BAD

Example: When the quality flag is BAD, you want to display the final value when communication is successful.

hint

By setting the "FocusHover" property of the form to which the component is attached to True, a focus frame will be displayed when you move the mouse cursor over the component to be operated.

2) Input/output tag specified/fault identification tag

If you specify a fault identification tag, you can receive the fault status of the device via the tag. For example, if you can receive a fault status (such as a sensor abnormality) from the downstream side as a signal separate from the device's measurement value, you can specify the tag path of that signal as the fault identification tag to display the fault along with the state of the quality flag of the input tag.

parts_slider3_003

When the fault identification tag is False, the value received by the input/output tag is displayed and can be edited as usual.

parts_slider3_004

A fault is displayed when the fault identification tag is true or when the quality flag of the input/output tag is bad.

When a fault is displayed, both the slider and edit box are disabled and cannot be edited.

3) Change the number format

You can change the number format to display numbers in various formats.

parts_slider3_005

In this example, the number format is specified as "@de" (Germany). In the German format, the decimal point is displayed as a comma instead of a period, and the comma is also treated as a decimal point when editing.

4) Confirmation screen display

If you enable the confirmation screen display (_IsConfirm), a confirmation dialog (Yes/No) will be displayed when you perform a write operation.

parts_dialog_confirm_001

If Yes is selected in the dialog, the value will be written to the tag.

5) Keyboard display

If you enable keyboard display (_ShowKeyboard), the keyboard dialog (numeric keypad) will be displayed when the edit box is focused.

parts_dialog_inputnum_001

You can edit the value using the numeric keypad on the dialog. Clicking the OK button closes the dialog and the edited value is reflected in the input box.

Furthermore, writing to the tag will not take place until you press the Confirm button.
