Video Recorder Settings

overview

Video recorder settings consist of "camera registration," "recorder registration," and "recorder terminal registration." After defining the recorder by registering the camera and recorder, you must register the client PC that will actually record as a recorder terminal. Note that each video recorder setting task is performed while the client is running. These setting tasks should be performed while both Panel Server and Panel Browser are running online.

The following describes how to register each setting for the video recorder.

•Camera registration

•Recorder registration

•Registering the recorder device

p_videosetup_0049

attention

The settings for the recording destination of the recording file must be carefully set according to the actual operation. For ideas on the recording settings of the recorder, please refer to "System configuration and operation of the video recorder".

To set the recording destination, click the Settings button next to the destination folder name.

p_videosetup_0054

This will pop up a folder selection dialog.

p_videosetup_0050

When selecting a folder, select whether to save to the server PC or to the local PC, and specify the destination folder.

Save to the server PC

Save the recording file on the server PC (Panel Server side). If you select this setting, the data will be saved in the public folder of Panel Server to which Panel Browser is connected. By default, "server:\\server_data_cnf\videorecorder" is set.

p_videosetup_0051

In the above example, a subfolder called "videorecorder" will be automatically created under the folder defined in the server's public folder "server_data_cnf", and video files will be saved in subfolders named after the cameras, such as Camera1, Camera2, etc.

Save to local PC

The recording file will be saved on the PC running Panel Browser. If you save to a local PC, you can define the absolute path or relative path.

If you define it with an absolute path, a subfolder will be created for each camera under the specified folder and saved in it. For example, if you set it as follows, subfolders with camera names such as Camera1, Camera2 will be automatically created under the C:\Videodata folder, and video files will be saved under each folder.

p_videosetup_0052

You can freely specify a drive letter other than C drive. For example, if you want to specify a network drive such as NAS, specify it as follows (the following is an example where the NAS drive is set as G drive).

p_videosetup_0116

If you define it with a relative path, the folder that stores the client setting file (such as client.xml) executed at runtime will be the current folder, and subfolders will be created starting from there to save the files. For example, if you set it as shown below, a "Videodata" folder will be created under the client's current folder, and a subfolder with the camera name will be automatically created under that to save the video files.

p_videosetup_0053

"Transfer recording files" allows you to set the video recorder to automatically transfer recording files to a specified folder.

p_videosetup_0057

Check "Transfer recorded files" and click the setting button next to it to display a pop-up folder selection dialog. Set the destination folder in the same way as the recording destination. Setting the transfer allows you to automatically transfer recorded data to another folder (such as a network drive).

attention

The bar display on the video recorder screen shows the status of the recording file at the recording destination. For example, if the recording destination is a local disk, the transfer destination is a NAS, and the viewing destination is also a NAS, the bar display on the video recorder screen shows the status of the recording destination file. Therefore, even if a recording file exists on NAS, if the recording file does not exist on the recording destination disk, the bar display will not be displayed.

In the viewing destination setting, specify the folder that will be the reference for the recorded data to be played back when playing back recorded data from the video recorder screen, etc. Set the viewing destination so that it refers to the intended location, such as one of the folders set in the recording destination or transfer destination.

hint

In addition to calling up the recorder registration dialog from the menu above, you can also call it up from the recording settings on the camera registration screen. You can register the recorder during the recording settings flow of camera registration, or you can register the recorder in advance and then register the camera.

Registering the recorder device

After defining the recorder, you need to register one of the client PCs as a recorder terminal. Assign one client PC as a recorder terminal for each recorder.

attention

Be sure to perform the following settings from the client PC that will actually perform the recording. Note that if you copy the entire project folder of the client setting file of a client PC registered as a recorder terminal to another client PC and run it online, the destination client PC may operate as a recorder terminal. If you manually copy the setting files of a client PC during the project development stage, etc., please be careful with the settings, such as deregistering the recorder terminal first before copying.

■ Registering the recorder device

The registration of the recorder device can be displayed from the video recorder settings menu.

p_videorecorder_0080
